Medicare Covered Opioid Treatment

Opioid use disorder treatment services

Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) covers opioid use disorder treatment services provided by opioid treatment programs (OTPs).

Your Costs in Original Medicare

You pay nothing for these services if you get them from an OTP that’s enrolled in Medicare. There is no deductible in the original part B. Counseling and therapy services are covered in person, by virtual delivery (using 2-way audio/video communication technology), or over the phone.
